Hiking

The Aureliuskirche is a Catholic church in the Hirsau district of Calw. The first monastery church was consecrated here in 830. After the decay there was a Romanesque new building in 1071. After the new Hirsau monastery was built, the monks moved and the church was used for all possible secular purposes over time. In 1954/1955 the building was renovated in order to be used again for sacred purposes.

Hiking

The Romanesque Aurelius Church, built between 1059 and 1071, formed the center of the monastery. The church was partially demolished in the 16th century; today, the nave and the shells of the two west towers still remain.
After extensive renovation, the church was used again as a Catholic place of worship from 1954 onwards.
On the south side of the Aurelius Church, there was formerly a cloister, of which a 33-meter-long section of wall has survived to this day.
