A wooden chapel previously stood on the site of today's St. George's Church. The chapel was demolished in 1692 due to dilapidation. The St. Georgenkirche was built as a half-timbered building on the demolition site in 1696. In 1986, after extensive renovation work, the St. Georgenkirche was inaugurated as a concert hall and today serves as a venue for concerts and exhibitions.
