Approaches to Aran Benllyn usually begin from Llanuwchllyn and ascend through a wonderful landscape characterised by peaceful pools and rocky knolls. The path handrails a fence for much of the way, a handy navigational aid in poor conditions, and the terrain is suitable for all reasonably fit walkers.
From the rocky outcrops on the summit, you are rewarded with a superb view of Aran Fawddwy ahead, a striking pyramid from this angle, as well as an extensive panorama that embraces many of the peaks of northern Snowdonia.
Accommodation wise, you can find many options in Bala to the north or Dolgellau to the west.

It is often ascended along with its parent peak and the nature of its long linnear ridgeline makes circular routes difficult to create. This might have something to do with why the Arans are so much quieter than their height and scenic majesty would have you believe.
