Reasons for the coat of arms: Originally a crowned man was depicted - probably a king - referring to the fact that Greding was a royal estate until 1311. Subsequently, it became a seated woman with a crown, holding a palm branch and because of this attribute can be interpreted as Saint Margaret. The “Gretl” now stood for the place name.
Greding has had a coat of arms since the 14th century.
