    Hiking

The steep streets of Alfama, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon, are lined with traditional handicraft shops and cafes. The historic 28E tram winds its way across Alfama up to the 11th-century Castle of São Jorge. From the terrace of the Viewpoint Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen there is a wonderful view over the city and the river Tajo. In the evenings, melancholy fado music wafts out of some of the established local restaurants.

    Hiking

Alfama lies on one of the seven hills of Lisbon, between Castelo de Sāo Jorge and the Tagus River. Alfama is one of the oldest districts of Lisbon. During the Moorish rule, Lisbon consisted exclusively of Alfama.
The area has a romantic, picturesque charm and a labyrinth of steep curves and corners, alleys and narrow passages that lead through the winding streets and stairs. You can also find many small bars here, where you can listen to traditional Fado music in the evening.
