Hiking
The highest peak of the lonely mountain ridge north of the Schneealpe is densely forested all around and crowned by a rocky structure. It offers an excellent panoramic view: Schneeberg and Rax west side, as well as interesting insights into the north side of the Schneealpe.

Mountaineering
Despite its beautiful panorama, the Großer Sonnleitstein has remained a quiet, rarely visited summit to this day. The remoteness and difficult public accessibility of the Hinternaßwald starting point contributes to this, as does the lack of shelters on the entire mountain range and the sometimes steep ascent routes.

Hiking
In addition to the fantastic 360 ° panorama, the alpine flora is a highlight here.
