The Catholic Basilica of Santa Cristina is located in Bolsena, in the province of Viterbo, in Lazio, known for being the place where the Eucharistic miracle of 1263 took place, depicted in the fresco "Mass in Bolsena" by Raphael, preserved in the Vatican Palace. It is also the burial place of the martyr and saint Cristina of Bolsena.

The sarcophagus of Saint Christina is located in a catacomb in the Basilica di Santa Cristina. The basilica actually consists of three adjoining churches from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The catacomb existed at the time of the Romans. The bloodstains on the altar stone are said to bear witness to a so-called 12th-century blood miracle when blood flowed from a host that was broken by a doubting priest. Every year on the 24th of July, the feast of Saint Christina in Bolsena is celebrated with mystery plays.
