Long and sometimes challenging climb, which leads to the foot of the valley. Little traffic and beautiful landscapes

    Road cycling

The Val Soana is beautiful, an uncrowded road that can be pedaled up to Valprato Soana and then a steep stretch to reach Piamprato.

Embark on a difficult racebike adventure with the Piamprato and Campiglia from Cuorgne route, a challenging ride spanning 39.9 miles (64.3 km). You will climb a substantial 6331 feet (1930 metres) over approximately 4 hours and 17 minutes, making it ideal for experienced cyclists with very good fitness. The route takes you through the beautiful and low-traffic Val Soana, offering serene alpine landscapes. As you ascend towards Piamprato, situated at 1,551 meters, you'll experience demanding, fully paved sections, particularly the 5.9 km segment from Valprato Soana with its 440-meter altitude difference. Be prepared for potential unpaved sections that add a unique mixed-terrain element to this otherwise road cycling journey.

This route is best suited for experienced road cyclists due to its significant elevation gain and the possibility of unpaved sections. The climb towards Campiglia Soana from Cuorgnè starts gently but becomes steeper after Ronco, including a 200-meter tunnel. While the segment to Piamprato is fully paved, some parts of the overall trail may be unpaved and difficult for road bikes. Always check local conditions before you head out, especially regarding road surfaces.

The Piamprato and Campiglia trail is notable for its rigorous climbing challenge and the serene, uncrowded nature of the Val Soana. This area is known for its beautiful landscapes and offers a demanding workout in an alpine environment. Piamprato itself is a hub for various outdoor activities, including climbing and hiking in the summer. The region also preserves local culture, where the Franco-Provençal dialect is still spoken, and traditional costumes may be seen during festivities.
