The town parish church is a Protestant church. The castle chapel, which became the town church in 1326, burned down in 1476 and was rebuilt. In 1731, it was again destroyed by fire—except for the choir. The church was subsequently rebuilt.
In 1903, it burned down again after a lightning strike—except for the tower and the altarpiece. Between 1904 and 1906, the church was restored to its original state.
