The Eifgenbach is one of the most attractive streams on the Dhünn plateau. It has its source on the Rattenberg, east of Wermelskirchen and finally, as the longest tributary, it flows into the Dhünn near Odenthal-Schöllerhof.

Under the title "Dhünnhochfläche - Waterworks of the Region", the Rheinisch-Bergische Kreis together with the Wupperverband and the municipalities, Burscheid, Kürten, Odenthal and Wermelskirchen has worked out the peculiarities of the region. A total of 14 hiking trails, 12 of them as circular hiking trails bring you closer to the varied and impressive natural landscapes of the Dhünn plateau, the Dhünntalsperre and the Eifgental.
