Cycling

The briquette factory and the associated power plant was built in 1912 and put into operation in 1913. Completely completed was the construction in 1918. The lignite was obtained from the adjacent open pit Witznitz. During the 79 years of operation, 38 million tons of briquette and electrical energy were produced for own use (open pit and factory) and the national grid.
