For alpinism, Leh has almost no inhabitants, unless he earns his living as a mountain guide. Therefore, it is not surprising that some of the beautiful peaks around Leh have no name or that every single Indian has his individual name. Nonetheless, this circumstance of joy does not detract: around Leh, there are nearly endless opportunities to climb to trail-less summits and plunge their soft, sandy flanks down into the best free-ride style.
