Refurbished weir system of the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal below Prunn Castle. Exemplary example of a weir system on the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal. The weirs usually take up the entire width of the river. If necessary, the keeper cranked up the gates (gate valves) via gear drives and dammed the water far back in order to enable a ship to enter or exit the lock.
