Hiking

The Lampertsbach disappears into the swallow holes when it is dry. Here the water seeps through the cracks in the karst. The water collects underground and reappears elsewhere. We were therefore able to cross the Lampertsbach today with dry feet.

Hiking

A small wooden bridge leads here over the Lampertsbach near the Kalvarienberg. The approximately 9.5-kilometer-long stream originates near Esch, initially as the Frömmelsbach, and only bears the name Lampertsbach near Alendorf. It flows through the Lampertstal, characterized by limestone, and finally flows into the Ahr. A special feature are the karst-related stream sinks, where the water temporarily disappears underground.

At this point, the hiking trail and the MTB route cross the Lampertsbach. For hikers there is a bridge to get dry feet across the stream ... for real MTBers there is a water passage here (but be careful - check beforehand; there is always something in the hollow ...)
