To the north west of Glasgow lie the beautiful Kilpatrick Hills, a moorland range of volcanic origin, speckled with reservoirs. Duncolm is the largest, with a summit at 1,316 feet (401 m), and lies fairly centrally. One of Duncolm’s major draws is its feeling of wilderness, despite being so close to Scotland’s largest city. It’s fairly easy to access and the terrain can be boggy and steep at the summit, but still very achievable by most.

After passing over little Duncolm and middle Duncolm, you finally arrive at Duncolm.It is the highest point of the Kilpatrick Hills, at an elevation of 401 metres. Its name means "Fort of Columba".
