Hiking

You are standing here in an ancient, almost ruined hillfort dating from the late 8th to 10th centuries. It has a diameter of 300 meters and is surrounded by three circular ramparts. The "Friends of Schwalenburg" support group regularly strives to protect the ramparts from overgrowth and further decay. They also built the castle tower, from which you have a magnificent view, themselves; only the materials were paid for by the municipality of Willingen. A visit is well worth it if you are in the area. The information panels provide an informative and exciting glimpse into the past.

Hiking

Fascinating old castle complex with a great view of the wide landscape. There is a log book in the tower that can be entered.

Great resting place with a lookout tower over the Aartal and Schwalefeld. Amazingly well-preserved ramparts.
