The small church of St.Stefanus in Steinkirchen. It lies on a hill above the Webelsbach.
The place Steinkirchen was mentioned for the first time probably in a document from 13th February 804 as "Steininchiricha". At that time a man named Starcholf and his son Hiltolf gave their property in Kreuzholzhausen to the diocese in Freising. The certificate was issued in Steininchiricha. Not all historians are of the opinion that it was the Steinkirchen near Dachau.

Church of St. Stephen, first mentioned in 804.
Back then, a stone church was a sensation. That is why the small town was given the name Steinkirchen. In the Gothic period the church was rebuilt, also an often painted motif. Noteworthy is a circular hole in the front church wall. Here the devil is said to have pulled out two card-playing peasants during the service. Since then, this hole can no longer be bricked up!
