Hiking

The Den of Alyth is a wooded glen on the outskirts of Alyth. The majestic woodland – composed of oak, ash and birch – is a direct-descendant of the deciduous forest that once covered great swathes of Scotland. Alyth Burn flows through the heart of the glen, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Hiking

There is ample parking at the Den in two car parks. A very good walk through the trees and along the river. A longer 5km circuit can be walked by starting from Alyth town square and following the waymarked route.
