Monadh Mòr lies in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and is a vast and remote Munro. At 3,652 feet (1,113 m), it holds considerable height but it’s the location that brings the real challenge to this behemoth mountain. All ascents require a considerable and strenuous walk-in, no matter which route you take. While you’re here though, you’ve a good opportunity to scale Beinn Bhrotain, another Munro, too.

Monadh Mòr is a 3,652-foot (1,113 m) Munro in the Scottish Highlands. We approached it in September 2019 from our wild camp spot, a short distance away (having climbed six Munros, including Ben Macdui the previous day). Mònadh Mor has quite a long summit ridge and is most often climbed together with Beinn Bhrotain.
