The most prominent lord of the court in Högen was the Protestant scholar and poet Christian Knorr von Rosenroth (1636-1689), he was probably the most famous resident of the Högen castle. Christian Knorr von Rosenroth was an exceptionally educated, clever and talented poet. He was a universal scholar and mediator of European ideas in Germany. The former Hartmannshof / Weigendorf school was also named after him. Of the many songs that he wrote for private family matters, the song Morgenglanz der Eternität is still used in church today. [

    Hiking

This fountain in Högen is a memorial to the court councilor, provost, and chancellery director Christian Knorr von Rosenroth.
Equipped with two benches, the fountain invites you to linger. The man was also a poet and composed the well-known hymn "Morgenglanz der Ewigkeit" (Morgengleam of Eternity).
