The Glückstadt House of the German Youth Hostel Association (DJH) is located on the harbor with a view of the Elbe. The modern building with its red brick look is still adorned with the monumental entrance gate of the "Old Admiralty" that used to be located on this spot. Inside the youth hostel, everything is decorated in a maritime style. There is a large outdoor area for the little ones, a sun terrace for the adults and a view of the Elbe from the seminar rooms for everyone.

Glückstadt Harbor is one of the most beautiful riverside streets in northern Germany. Colorful houses line the water's edge like a pearl necklace. From the Glückstadt Youth Hostel you can enjoy this wonderful view of the hustle and bustle in the harbor. Right next to the youth hostel, a canoe rental invites you to take a jaunt. The Elbe dykes give cyclists and hikers a view of grazing flocks of sheep and behind the dyke the large pots can be seen on their journey into the distance.
