Schwaneck Castle is a kind of early medieval cosplay. Herr von Schwanthaler built the castle in the mid-19th century out of sheer enthusiasm for the Middle Ages. The subsequent owners were just as obsessed with the Middle Ages and diligently expanded the self-proclaimed castle.
