The promenade was named after the Schweinfurt teacher and local historian Hubert Gutermann (1892-1974). The path leads with enclosed green area along the northern banks of the Main River below the old town. Starting near the Georg Schäfer Museum you will find numerous industrial and engineering historical monuments, including the first roller weeder in the world.

Wonderful walks along the Main are possible on the Gutermann Promenade, which begins near the Georg Schäfer Museum at the level of the former art mill.
