The Eider rises from two spring ponds: the lake at the forester's lodge Mannhange and the hedge pond near Overdorfer Redder. However, here in Rendsburg it essentially springs again, as no water enters the river from the Kiel Canal. Through the town of Rendsburg it follows the course of the Kiel Canal almost parallel, but then turns north towards Oldenbüttel. You can admire the Eider on both sides of the river channel, although the north side is more suitable for cyclists.

The Roman god Neptune was originally the god of flowing water, bubbling springs and even the weather. The Neptune Column is a sculpture by Karlheinz Goedtke in Rendsburg 😉...

The memorial of the fog bell from the old swing bridge has the following inscription: Swing bridge fog bell 1913 - 1961. The swing bridge was then replaced by the current pedestrian tunnel. One of the landmarks can be found at the Hotel Conventgarten or the north pedestrian tunnel 😉.

The Stadttheater in RD is one of the state theaters in S-Hische and shows not only drama but also music, ballet, concerts and theater especially for the younger generation and puppet theater... The appearance of the theater is striking for the cityscape in RD... The foundation stone was laid in November 1900 and the inauguration took place a year later in November 1901... At that time, the building appeared in a historical Renaissance style supplemented by elements from the Wilhelminian period. A lot of ornamentation was removed over the years, giving the Stadttheater its clear appearance today 😉...
