The part of the tour is actually a hiking trail blocked by rocks. The trail is only conditionally recommended for mountain bikers - and in either direction! You should either have a light bio-bike or an e-MTB with push assist. In any case, you need good fitness and riding technique!

I like it a lot but only in the direction towards Olmeto (west/east) done 90% by bike, otherwise you have to push too hard, this tour I do the opposite.

The prehistoric site of Filitosa is a historical monument and is included in the list of one hundred historical sites of general interest for the Mediterranean countries. Filitosa fascinates with the beauty of the archaeological finds and the diversity of the natural environment.

8000 years of history and mysteries Discover the roots of Corsica in the footsteps of the first Corsicans. Filitosa is considered the most important site of the megalithic culture of Corsica. It is home to one of the most beautiful collections of prehistoric works of art in Europe. At the same time, the cultural site still poses many questions for researchers. Filitosa offers an overview of 8000 years of human history in the Mediterranean region.

If you have the right skill level, the downhill part is definitely doable and a lot of fun. It is very blocked, rocky and rough. Where it goes uphill, it is hardly doable. For me it was great and I would do it again. My wife and daughter were less enthusiastic.

Today we "rode" our MTBs - we are not professionals, nor are we (semi-)professionals, we like to ride a lot of MTBs in our free time. But this tour is too extreme - we would call it an "MTB triathlon": riding, pushing and heaving/carrying the MTB. A very nice tour in itself, but next time we would rather hike it - the middle section over a distance of around 3 km took around 1 hour. We kept asking ourselves whether there are people who can really ride down or up something like that (the "fly-MTB" doesn't exist yet...)

the préhistoric site is nice. But don't eat in the restaurant - too expensive and lousy quality (but their homemade beer is good)
