is good to cycle on. We had a Force 6 wind and had to push our bikes on the Fehmarnsundbrücke.

True, a bit bumpy, but still very beautiful.

Unfortunately, Großenbrode, like many other beautiful beach resorts, has banned cyclists, which is why it is no longer interesting for me! They are building 10 m wide walking paths for pedestrians and cyclists have to ride through the hinterland past filthy houses and garages 🙈🙈 Thanks, Tourism Office, I hope your guests soon stop coming!

The "sword in the stone" near Großenbrode is indeed a bit of a mystery – and nobody knows for sure why it's there, not even the local council. Most clues suggest it's a modern art installation or novelty piece that someone placed there at some point – presumably as a reference to the Arthurian legend and the sword Excalibur. Such "swords in stone" are often installed as small attractions or photo opportunities.

In a beautiful setting, you pass the well-kept manor house, built of traditional brick, typical of the region. The future Großenbrode/Heiligenhafen train station is planned to the west.
