When you stand at the Schmilka Grandfather's Chair, the "background"—that is, the massive rock faces behind you—is part of the Affensteine (Monkey Rocks) or the Upper Terrace Trail. The actual "chair" is the small, carved platform on which you sit. It is therefore one of the few places in the region where the name truly refers to a man-made "piece of furniture" and not just to the imagination when looking at rock formations.
