The Hunsrück is more diverse than you might think. After a long stretch through the dense forest, you reach an open landscape near Zerf, which allows far-reaching views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. On the plateau above the Saar there are isolated tiny villages, in between you will find pure nature.

The Schillinger Waldweiher is located in the immediate vicinity of the spit roast hall and is also called the spit roast lake among anglers. However, nobody has fished a spit roast here, here in the pond operated by the Schillingen/Heddert fishing club there are carp, rainbow trout, tench, sturgeon, pike and roach. Due to the attraction of the spit roast hall, there is a lot going on when the weather is nice.

Hello hikers, Unfortunately, during the last storm in October 2021, two trees crashed onto the footbridge and destroyed it. The hiking trail is therefore being diverted with signs. Update: the path has been repaired again.
