The mighty old entrance gate to the cemetery is very impressive!

Three-part Neoclassical cemetery gate from around 1830 or 1871 Source: Wikipedia The path to the cemetery in Monzingen leads from the Upper Gate through the cemetery gate, which is probably unique in its design. It was presumably erected in 1826 according to the plans of Mr. von Cocy. "Twelve horses were needed to haul these beautiful columns up the Naheweg," one of the old residents told the chronicler, who recorded this around 1911 to 1920. The gate was last renovated in 2014. The five-arched bridge over the Nahe was built around 1860 and rebuilt after being blown up in 1946/47. The bridge is a listed building. At the end of the bridge there is a plaque with the bridge's history.
