Wegberg Castle, originally a 14th-century moated castle, was eventually replaced by the current 19th-century manor house, while only a few remnants of the original structure remain, such as the gatehouse (16th/17th century) and the moats. After the castle was sold in 1869 and the land was subsequently subdivided, the remaining structures were demolished to make way for modern residential and factory buildings.
