Inger and Roland Nilsson from Emarp are committed to preserving the old watermill. When Inger's grandfather, A. G. Andersson, bought the mill in the 1880s, an old grain mill presumably stood on this site. He modernized it and laid the foundation for the current mill. In the 1930s, Inger's grandfather, Theodor, added a third story, and the mill took on its current appearance. Inger's father was the last miller at Emarp's mill before operations ceased in the 1970s. The small miller's office, where Inger's father sat at his desk and did his bookkeeping, is still preserved in the mill today.

There's a boat dock right next to the small bay where the Virserumsån River flows into the lake. It's a great place to observe the activity on the lake, as long as there's already something going on. It's sure to be a very busy spot in the summer.
