The path takes you across this narrow, wild and romantic headland that juts out into Lake Ala-Ruokonen.

If you feel like it, you can take a short break on the small wooden bench during your run. The view is simply wonderful.

You need to be sure-footed here: the path leads you over numerous roots and stones towards the Mäkrä summit.

In addition to a fire pit, you will also find a toilet and enough space for camping.

With springy steps you will literally fly over the narrow forest trail. It is simply wonderful when the forest floor is firm under your soles and yet gives enough when you run.

Koli
November 25, 2024, Uhrihalkeama

An ancient sacrificial site, is a story telling place protected by the Antiquities Act. There is a crack in middle of the rock that has been filled with coins thrown there over the course of the last century. Uhrihalkema is connected with Annikki's story, often told at the site, where the girl sacrifices riches to the crack's earth spirit in order to regain her fortune. There are several signatures in the Uhrihalkeama rock cut by Finnish artists inspired by Karelianism in the 20th century. Uhrihalkeama is located at the northern end of the Koli hotel building.
