The water tower was built in 1913 and is 37 meters tall. The water reservoir, with a volume of 150 cubic meters, was located at a height of 25 meters. The water tower was decommissioned in 1978. It has been a listed technical monument since 1990. In 2006, it was converted into an observation tower. From May to October, visitors can admire the view of the Müritz-Elde waterway and the historic old town from a height of 26 meters.
