The altar design, pulpit, pews, and west gallery date from the renovation at the end of the 19th century. On the carved altar screen from 1743 are the donor coats of arms of a Lieutenant von Massow and his wife, a born von Alemann. The wife is presumably a daughter of Johann Ernst von Alemann.[3] To commemorate the mission in Pomerania by Bishop Otto I of Bamberg, there is a larger-than-life bishop figure in the entrance area. The church also contains the tomb slabs of the Pomeranian Duke Ratibor I and his wife Pribislawa, as well as the mayors J. Rohner and H. O. Volcmar. The stained glass in the choir was made in 1893 at the Royal Institute for Stained Glass in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Source https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St.-Marien-Kirche_(Usedom)

The Marienkirche is a three-nave hall church made of brick with six bays. The eastern stepped gable has pointed arch blind arches as decoration. The church has a recessed polygonal choir. The square west tower has side aisles. There are buttresses on the choir and nave. A square sacristy with a hipped roof is attached to the southeast corner between the nave and the choir. The tower, integrated into the nave, has a transversely oriented gable roof in a north-south direction, which is crowned by a steeple with a high pointed helmet. This is framed by two gables with finial towers, pointed arch blind arches and a central clock face. Above the west portal is a three-light window. Southwest of it is a stair tower with a conical roof. The nave has a flat wooden beam ceiling inside. It is divided into three naves by wooden supports with arcade arrangements. The choir has cross-ribbed vaults with pear-strip profiles. Quelle https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St.-Marien-Kirche_(Usedom)

The Marienkirche was first mentioned in 1337 as Usedom's third church after St. Paul's Church, to which it was initially subordinate, and the church of the Grobe monastery, both of which no longer exist today. The town pastor of the Marienkirche usually belonged to the monastery.[1] In 1475, the church was destroyed in a town fire. The north wall of the nave, the base of the tower, and the shape of the windows in the main nave date from the four-bay new construction erected at the end of the 15th century. The tower received an octagonal pyramid spire in 1673. In 1699, a tie beam of the masonry vaults collapsed. A major renovation was begun in 1726 and completed around 1743. Due to weak foundations, the masonry pillars had to be replaced with oak logs that support the new beamed ceiling. After the Reformation, the respective Usedom pastor led the synod of the island of Usedom as Praepositus, and from 1806 as Superintendent. The former provost's office (superintendency), a half-timbered building, stands opposite the west portal of the Marienkirche.[2] In the years 1891 to 1893, the tower and chancel took on their present form during a restoration that had become necessary. Based on a design by Ludwig Böttger, the church was largely rebuilt on the original floor plan. The choir was significantly reduced and the preserved north side was clad. The tower was re-formed in the Neo-Gothic style. The Marienaltar was handed over to the then Pomeranian State Museum in Stettin, today Muzeum Narodowe w Szczecinie, where parts of it and the figure of Mary are located.
