The small village of Stakendorf, east of Schönberg, boasts its own beach with its approximately 450 inhabitants: Stakendorf Beach. A wide, natural, white sandy beach stretches for about 1.8 kilometers from the Schmoel nature reserve eastward to the fishing huts at Schönberg Beach. The border between Schönberg and Stakendorf runs right through the middle of the fishing huts on the dike. This beach, which is free of visitor's tax, features a wide dune landscape, particularly in its eastern section, offering sheltered spots for sunbathing. Cycling about 1 kilometer east from the fishing huts, you'll find an unofficial nudist area between two groynes. Many visitors now use this area as an alternative to the designated nudist section.

The Naval Memorial in Laboe is a memorial to sailors of all nations who remained at sea and a monument to peaceful seafaring on the open seas. The 72-meter-high tower of the memorial, which is considered a landmark of the Kiel Fjord, is particularly striking and visible from afar. The memorial ensemble also includes various exhibition spaces, both at the foot of the tower and throughout the site.

The Viking straw figure has weathered and has been removed, but the bench still invites you to linger.
