The church in Satemin was built in the 14th century from field stones, which, despite a later brick extension, determine the appearance of the church. It was first mentioned in 1313 in connection with a priest in Satemin. In the west, the church has a church tower made of field stones, which is provided with a supporting pillar and whose pyramid roof is covered with reddish roof tiles. Almost half of the masonry is made of brick. The interior of the church is covered with a flat barrel vault. The windows on the bell floor have pointed arches and segmental arches underneath.

Framed by old oaks and large linden trees, the 13th-century church, made of field stones and bricks, is the architectural focus of the largest and perhaps most beautiful round village in Wendland. Unfortunately it was locked on this Sunday afternoon on Pentecost. But you can find out more about the interior and history here: www.satemin.de

A pretty, old church and for me a nice photo opportunity! It's just a pity that so many pictures have been added here that have nothing to do with the church. There is a separate highlight for the circular village of Satemin.
