You can sit inside or outside. They have a wide selection of teas, but they also serve coffee and cappuccino. Friendly staff served me quite quickly. Not too expensive.

The hamlet of Roodehaan was founded around 1600 when someone, probably a farmer, started a ferry service across the Reitdiep. The hamlet owes its name to the ferry house/farm that stood here. Around 1800, this ferry house was owned by Jan van Julsinga, who had access to a rowing boat for passenger transport and a chimney for heavy freight or larger numbers of people. In 1825 the ferry house was destroyed by a heavy February storm, but it was subsequently rebuilt. In 1906 a swing bridge was constructed, making the ferry redundant and it was closed 2 years later.
