The year is 1999: The municipality of Lauenhagen is looking for a suitable building for use as a "cultural barn" in order to hold events in the village. One eye-catcher is "Wüstenfeld's barn", an old building that is about to decay, as there is no longer any use for the building on the owner's farm and it was only used as a storage site when needed. Hence the term "barn", although it was actually the former main house of the farm, which was originally both living and working as the farm. In the meantime, new buildings were built as a living and working area, because the old building no longer allowed a modern life and actually disturbed the yard area.
