From here you have a beautiful view over the Western Scheldt; that applies to this entire dike path, by the way. So close to the major port city of Antwerp, you might just spot a large ship. Or the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe in the distance: the largest brackish marsh in Western Europe.

This marina is located in the heart of the city, and the quays are lined with beautiful warehouses. The facades, featuring a historic stepped gable, are striking. You can take a pleasant stroll along the harbor and admire all this beauty.

On the southern edge of Zuid-Beveland, near Baarland, a new nature reserve was created in 2007. This was done to compensate for the nature that is being lost due to the deepening of the Western Scheldt. The deepening increases the current and the nature outside the dike on the Western Scheldt is crumbling. The two most important goals in the creation of this area were to provide a high-water refuge for wading birds and a breeding area for coastal breeding birds. The area is used extensively by coastal breeding birds. Birds such as ringed plovers, ringed plovers and avocets are extensively searching for worms, crustaceans and cockles. In the spring of 2009, the nests were counted and it turned out that more than 110 pairs of avocets were breeding. The young are currently leaving the nest. Wherever you look, you can see this beautiful creature wading through the area. The ranger also counted a small colony of breeding black-headed gulls, a few Kentish plovers, a few little ringed plovers and three pairs of ringed plovers. You can take a look at this nursery. The area is right next to the Scheldeoord campsite in the south of Baarland. You can look out over the area from the Zeedijk. This area falls under Natura 2000

The Stadshaven (City Harbor) of Goes is a historic marina in the center of Goes, Zeeland. Originally, this harbor served as a trading port, transporting products such as beer and peat by water. The street names surrounding the harbor, such as Bierkade (Bier Quay) and Turfkade (Turf Quay), recall these trading activities. Since 1974, the Stadshaven has served as a marina and offers a picturesque mooring for pleasure boats. The harbor is connected to the Oosterschelde National Park, the largest national park in the Netherlands, via the Goese Sas canal. Historic buildings surround the harbor, including 't Soepuus, a former tidal watermill. The quay walls of the Stadshaven have been designated a national monument, adding to the area's historic charm.
