The Groenzoom is a beautiful nature and recreation area where many birds can be seen. The large numbers of great and little egrets in the area were striking. Geese also returned in large numbers. It also became clear that the water features are very shallow. A swan was even seen sleeping in the middle of one.

Annie M.G. Schmidtpark is located between Berkel en Rodenrijs and Bergschenhoek. This long and narrow park, covering approximately 72 hectares, is situated along the high-speed railway line and offers wonderful recreational opportunities. The park is divided into three sections: North, Central, and South. In North, you can truly enjoy nature. There are grassy areas for picnics, a playground with play equipment, a Cooper track, and a soccer field. In the central section, you'll find De Windas swimming pool. There's also a large skate park. In the southern section, you'll find the nature play island Tuin van Floddertje and a mountain bike trail.
