If you walk from the Ridderkerkse Grienden to Slikkerveer, you'll pass a concrete ship moored on land. I don't know its exact history, but it is gigantic. The underside of the ship is used as a hangar.

A beautiful natural area for cycling and walking. The usual cycle path runs along the Rotterdamseweg, but cycling through this natural area is much more enjoyable.

When girlfriends of enemy soldiers were arrested, fighting broke out between German soldiers and members of the Interior Forces. In one of those battles, around Dr. Berger's practice, after surrender of the BS men who had fled inside, all the men present in the practice were shot. This resulted in 7 deaths. Shots were also fired at a passerby, killing her.

A tour around the crezeepolder is a guarantee of bird watching. the polder is connected to the open water and has a beautiful tidal current. There are several viewing huts and you walk right past the reeds where the birds are hidden!
