An open church in the east, right in the center of the village. Beautiful to see from the inside, don't just drive by. A visit is worthwhile.

The ⛪️ church tower in the center of town cannot be overlooked. The baroque church of St. Petri was built from bricks in 1746/1747 by the Hamburg master builder Johann Leonhard Prey. Prey was the co-builder of Hamburg's main church, St. Michaelis, the Hamburger Michel. The size of the church still shows the prosperity of the Osten residents at that time. The interior from the time of construction has been preserved unchanged; it is unmistakably similar to that of the Hamburger Michel.

Actually everything has been said. You can actually see immediately the similarity with the Hamburger Michel. She is always impressive.

The Kreidesee is a flooded chalk quarry that is mainly used by divers. What is particularly impressive about this lake is the clear blue of the water. Direct access to the lake is only allowed for divers and guests of the cottage settlement. Swimming is forbidden there. But the lake is also beautiful to look at from afar.

There is not much left to say, I have to agree with my predecessor.

The Oste with a mighty stream at ebb and flow, the transporter bridge - an extraordinary experience, the winding buildings from the east, especially the houses on the dike and the church. The builder of the church was also involved in the construction of the Hamburg Michel - you can see similarities. There is also a nice café for shopping with a sunny outdoor area.

An Eldorado for divers! The lake was created by cement mining at the time. Old, still functioning emergency telephones can be found around the lake! Unfortunately, it is not possible to cycle around the lake!☝️
