Unfortunately, the tower was closed on Thursday, but a climb/ride up to this historic castle ruin is definitely worthwhile 🤗

In mid-September 2024, the tower was unfortunately closed (again), as was the adjacent restaurant. There is currently no solution for the hiking trail (Calenberg-Harz) that runs through the garden restaurant. We walked behind the tower and then a short distance across the property. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any dogs.

The Northern Harz Foreland stamp office No. 17 at the Bismarck Tower in Salzgitter-Bad was relocated. Until recently it was located at the entrance to the restaurant, but now it is about 100m further north near the information boards, where the ridge path towards the Reihersee begins.
