Gillian Allard first photographed him at a bus stop in Pakefield in March 2020, just before the COVID-19 lockdowns began. During lockdown, Allard began experimenting with a technique to bond photographic images onto concrete surfaces—a method suitable for outdoor, weather-resistant installations.
