The Krauß miller family, first documented at this location in 1735, built and operated a grain mill whose mill wheel was powered by the water of the Ölsnitz (Untreubach) stream via an approximately 600-meter-long, artificially created mill channel. The "lease of the Ölsnitz stream" by Baron von Kotzau to master miller Johann Krauß in Eppenreuth was re-documented in 1835 with reference to the fishing rights. An old millstone and iron drive wheels at the entrance to the property point to the building's history as a former mill.

You cross the Untreubach stream by stepping from one stone block to the next. Alternatively, you can walk through the shallow part of the stream in summer.
