Pope Benedict XVI expressed the following thoughts during the Stations of the Cross meditation (Good Friday 2010) in the Colosseum in Rome, which may also be of interest to those passing by here in front of this forest cross (crucifix): "He [Jesus Christ] knows that his death becomes the source of life, just as the seed must break open in the earth so that the plant can grow: "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit" (John 12:24). Jesus is the grain of wheat that falls into the earth, is torn open, breaks open, dies and can therefore bear fruit. Since the day Christ was raised on the cross, the cross - apparently a symbol of abandonment, loneliness, failure - has become a new beginning: from the depths of death rises the promise of eternal life. The triumphal splendor of Easter morning already shines on the cross." (Pope Benedict XVI)

In the heart of the Zöschingen community wind farm you can find information about the construction of the eight wind turbines directly on one of these wind turbines. The Zöschingen wind farm is the largest community wind farm in Bavaria when it opened on May 3rd, 2013 and was built in around 1.5 years of construction. The turbines belong to the 2.4 megawatt power class from the German manufacturer Nordex. They have rotor blades almost 60 meters long and a hub height of 120 meters. If there is enough wind, these systems can supply more than 12,000 four-person households with electricity. This corresponds to about a third of the size of the Dillingen district.
