Protestant Main Church (St. Martin and Mary Wilhermsdorf, this name is incorrect) Repeated attempts, even in modern publications, to assign the old patronage name "St. Martin and Mary" to the "Main Church" have been rejected to this day. It remains a mystery why the Main Church has not been given another name, documented in the extensive documents relating to the church's consecration. Perhaps, a "Protestant" reference could be found here, too, in which such a simple designation as "Main Church" clearly gives priority to the functional designation "church" (Greek: kȳrikón = "House of God").

The church was built in 1705-09 according to a design by Joseph Greissing. The architect was introduced to the Hohenlohe family by Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau zu Vollraths. It is a hall church with a central nave and two side aisles. The three bays of the nave are covered with a groin vault. There are galleries in the side aisles. The church tower, which has a square floor plan, has an octagonal top in the north, which houses the tower clock and the bell cage, and is covered with a slate-covered Welsche dome.
