A short detour from the main route takes you to Sponeck Castle. The castle is privately owned, but the large garden is freely accessible.

Overall, a lovely experience that I would recommend. The lake and the beach were unfortunately very crowded, but you could swim in the lake itself. 🏊♂️ It was just a bit overgrown with algae. It was also difficult to get there; you had to drive around several gates and even cross a small stream. All in all, it was a lovely visit.

Great swimming spot. Gently sloping and clear water. In mid-May 2025, the water was about 17 degrees.
