The parish church of St. John has stood in its present form since 1777. Before that, a chapel built in 1479 stood on this site, which was later expanded into its current form. In 1651, the church was elevated to an independent parish church. After the construction of the new parish church at the opposite end of the cemetery, this parish church was closed in 1960. After extensive structural restoration, the church was reopened and is now used as a burial church. Overall, it is a building that is a defining feature of the Vandanz townscape, exuding a special atmosphere against the backdrop of the mountains.

The path around the Lünersee starts directly at the mountain station. At just under 1,600 meters, it is technically easy to go around the turquoise lake. Fantastic views are guaranteed here. A truly enjoyable tour.

The "Böse Tritt" is beautiful and quite steep and connects the hiking car park and the Lünersee. The alpine trail overcomes almost 400 meters in altitude. In some places there is a risk of falling rocks.

The Old Parish Church of John the Baptist is a Roman Catholic church in Vandans in Montafon. A chapel is known from 1479. In 1519 a chaplaincy for the Tschagguns mother church was started. After being expanded to become a church in 1614, the church became an independent parish church in 1651. The church was enlarged in 1777 under the architect Josef Burtscher. After the new parish church was built at the opposite end of the cemetery, the old parish church was closed in 1960. After extensive structural work, the church was able to be reopened and is now used as a burial church. The church is a baroque nave with a retracted choir under a gable roof with wooden shingles. It has a south-facing church tower with an onion dome, the lower floors of which have a square floor plan. The top two floors of the tower are octagonal. During restoration work on the church tower in May 2020, a supposed relic of the Apostle James was found alongside centuries-old records in the approximately ten kilogram gold-leaf church tower ball. The “treasure”, which according to restorer Beatrice Pfeifer was in poor condition, was handed over to the diocese of Feldkirch, which is checking the authenticity of the find. Source: wikipedia
