The very well-marked ascent route leads through a deep gully with many small climbing spots. The Ier terrain is actually not a big problem, and yet fatal falls do occur in the gully again and again. Because of the brittle rock, be sure to take a rockfall helmet with you. Please note that the Widderstein is only really fun in dry conditions, because the paths soften very quickly. It is also best to wait until the dangerous old snow fields have disappeared. Source: https://www.gamssteig.de/touren/grosser-widderstein
